The MiFA Trophy
The MiFA Trophy is more than an award — it's a work of art. Designed by Thomas Kadman and hand-crafted by jewelry maker Matteo Martinis, the trophy is made using natural, earthy materials: wood, copper, and metal. Each piece is individually forged, celebrating the essence of Italian craftsmanship.
At the heart of the design is the crown, a modern tribute to the Corona Ferrea (Iron Crown), one of Italy’s most iconic royal relics. The original crown — believed to contain a band of iron from a Roman nail and once worn by Queen Teodolinda — is housed in the Cathedral of Monza, where it remains a powerful symbol of leadership, faith, and Italian heritage.
The MiFA Trophy stands as a unique, handcrafted object, meant to honor not only cinematic excellence, but also to shine a light on the next generation of Italian artisans — young talents shaping the future through tradition, creativity, and skill.

about Matteo Martinis
www.martinislab.com

From crafting simple jewelry out of natural materials as a child in Formentera to founding his own atelier, Matteo Martinis has always been driven by a passion for making things by hand. After honing his skills at the Selvatico Institute in Padua, the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, and the LAO Academy in Florence, Matteo set out to revive the dying art of traditional goldsmithing.
In 2022, he founded Martinis Lab, a studio dedicated to creating handmade silver pieces that reflect individuality, craftsmanship, and sustainable values. Every item is crafted by hand — whether shaped directly from silver or using the ancient lost-wax technique — ensuring no two pieces are ever alike.
At the heart of Martinis Lab is a mission to encourage sustainable, conscious consumption, inviting people to move away from disposable fast fashion and reconnect with objects that carry meaning and authenticity. For Matteo, it’s not just about making jewelry — it’s about keeping craftsmanship alive.
